The Map Room – History Reclaimed, Stone by Stone
The Map Room tells a story of rediscovery. During early renovations, a wall was torn down—revealing a hidden treasure: a long-forgotten stone fireplace. Sadly, the original stones were removed and thrown into the river below. But the story didn’t end there.
Refusing to let history be lost, the new owners ordered the stones to be retrieved and the fireplace rebuilt, stone by stone, just as it once stood. Today, this fully restored fireplace is the heart of the Map Room, a powerful symbol of preservation, craftsmanship, and respect for the past.
