Each tour offers an engaging look at the estate's architecture, the history of Benbow Valley, and the fascinating people who shaped this remarkable property over the years.
Your experience begins with either a peaceful walk along the paved riverside path or a convenient shuttle ride to the estate. As you pass through the historic iron gate, adorned with a living wreath, and make your way down the driveway, you'll be welcomed into one of Northern California's most remarkable historic estates, where stories of architecture, history, and the people who shaped Benbow Valley come to life.
During the approximately 1½ to 2-hour tour, you'll explore all three historic buildings:
The Main House – Visit every level of the estate while learning about its design, restoration, and architectural significance.
The Carriage House – Discover its original purpose and role in estate life.
The Cottage – Learn about the history and function of this charming companion structure.
Along the way, you'll hear captivating stories about the history of Benbow Valley, the estate's connection to renowned architect Julia Morgan, the property's past owners and notable guests, and the preservation efforts that continue to protect this extraordinary landmark.

Availability: Monday - Friday @ 11:00am - 1:00pm OR 1:00pm to 3:00pm (subject to availability)
Reservations: Required in advance
Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
Fee: $40 per person - ages 13 and older
$20 per child - ages 4 to 12
Free - ages 3 and under
Group Size: Limited to 6 guests per tour

Visitor Guidelines
Guests are welcomed to Julia Morgan Redwood Grove at the invitation of the owners. This invitation may be rescinded at any time should a guest engage in behavior that is disrespectful toward the landscape, artifacts, staff, or hosts.
Property Respect
Please do not pick flowers, uproot plants, or otherwise disturb the landscape.
Handling or moving home décor, antiques, or art is strictly prohibited.
Rude, condescending, aggressive, or abusive language toward staff or hosts will not be tolerated.
Safety & Comfort
Redwood Grove is a smoke-free and vape-free environment. No open flames are permitted at any time.
Certified service dogs on leashes are welcome. Pets may be allowed with prior approval from the owners; all pets must remain leashed and well-behaved.
Bottled water is permitted inside the house and gardens.
Food and beverages may only be consumed outdoors; trash and recycling receptacles are provided for guest use.
Please be mindful of natural terrain, including uneven ground, tree roots, and gravel paths.
Several areas of the estate are accessed by stairs.
The path to the river is closed to visitors for safety reasons.
Enforcement
Failure to follow these policies may result in cancellation of activities without refund and immediate removal from the property.
