Tour Information

  • Availability: Monday - Friday (limited availability on weekends)

  • Reservations: Required in advance

  • Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours

  • Fee: $20 per person

  • Group Size: Limited to 6 guests per tour

Tour Overview

Guests will enjoy a curated experience of the estate grounds and residence, including:

  • A guided walk through the Redwood Grove and the historic home, originally designed by renowned California architect Julia Morgan

  • A brief history of the Benbow Valley

  • An overview of Julia Morgan’s contributions to architecture and California history

  • Insight into the ongoing architectural restoration of the estate, featuring the work of local Humboldt County artisans

Visitor Guidelines

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests:

  • Redwood Grove is a smoke and vape free environment. No open flames at any time.

  • Certified service dogs on leashes are welcome

  • Bottled water is permitted in the house and gardens

  • Food and other beverages may only be consumed outdoors; trash and recycling receptacles are provided

  • Please be mindful of natural terrain, including uneven ground, tree roots, and gravel paths

  • Several areas of the estate are accessed by stairs.

  • The path to the river is closed to visitors for safety reasons

Accessibility Notice

As a privately owned historic property,

Julia Morgan Redwood Grove is not required to meet ADA accessibility standards.

New Admission Pricing Effective January 1, 2026

Starting January 1, 2026, the updated admission fees for visiting the Julia Morgan Redwood Grove Estate will be:

  • $40 per person – Ages 13 and older

  • $20 per child – Ages 4 to 12

  • Free – Children 3 and under
