“My fiancée and I were married here. The Julia Morgan Redwood Grove is the most spectacular estate that one could wish for. Not only did we have a sublime time every prewedding visit with the owner Tanya but the day of the wedding had the most spectacular sun and shade coverage throughout the day/evening. Our photographer could not stop commenting on the scenery, light, and aesthetics of the venue. If you want a wedding in Humboldt County that is not only NOT A BARN, but a perfect representation of architecture superiority and elegance this is the place that you want to get married. “We toured this home as a family event celebrating our parents 67th wedding anniversary while staying at the Benbow Inn. This home is incredibly beautiful, and Tanya and Greg were the best hosts too! The previous owners bought the home somewhat rundown around 2000. Image if you could buy a rundown home, had a very large budget, and could restore the home to original Julia Morgan splendor, and more. That is exactly what was done. Every aspect of the home was redone with great care. Walk into the grand room and immediately your gaze is pulled upward to the ornate vaulted ceiling, all old growth redwood. The sun room, family area, and kitchen nook have beautiful windows looking over the Eel River. The master bedroom on the second floor is so large with abundant outside light. Much of the interior architecture carries common themes so creative, rose buds carved in unique places, and leaves inlaid in the floor and walls that are then carried into a large and beautiful watercolor painting. The light fixtures we fashions by local artisans and blacksmiths. Tanya and Greg have both shared much history about Julia Morgan, the house, and Benbow Inn, and the general area. The entire 3 acre facility is wonderfully landscaped, maintained by a full time gardener. This is a magnificent venue for weddings and corporate events, and especially for celebrities or people in the public eye. It is on a private road within a fenced enclosure. Thank you for an outstanding time, for your special touches, and for being flexible with the special needs of our aging parents. You were both great!”

“This historic residence located in Benbow is absolutely stunning. I attended a wedding here several years ago and recently went on a historic tour with the owner. Such rich history! The grounds are beautiful with sweeping views of the Eel River make this place magical. Such a warm energy pulses throughout the main home, carriage house and the cottage that visiting is a great pleasure. The tour was intriguing and inspired me to stay in one of the accommodations that are available on AirBnB and the place does not disappoint. By the time my stay came to an end I felt amazing, refreshed and ready to plunge back into the demands of my life. If you have time, book the tour or better yet, book the Cottage and stay a couple of nights.
